With its traditional stucco arches, hand trawled plaster and walls of glass that frame views of the village-theme hotel and cobalt-blue sea, the Restaurant at Cala di Volpe shows-off a series of interior upgrades that lend a more formal feel to the resort-minded eatery. Terracotta floors offset more modern furnishings of natural wood with painted motif in yellow and gold. Those with children should keep in mind that a separate dining room is offered from 7pm throughout summer high season with personal Maître'd to take their food requests.
The Food
Chef Franco Guardone presides over a menu inspired by regional recipes using the locally sourced produce, cheeses, meats, and fresh-caught seafood. Showy, high-season dinner begins with chartcuterie platters of Sardinian ham, appetizers like fresh seafood fritti and ricotta-stuffed squash. Pasta course include numerious varitaions including fresh cannelloni stuffed with chopped beef and béchamel or signature "Fregola"�"Sardinian durum wheat pasta served with a veggie seafood sauce. Main course offers a variety of fresh-grilled presentation including hand-selected fish or meat grilled on an open flame personally by the chef.
